As a child Narelle started as a Rhythmic Gymnast, but her love of dance took over.
Narelle studied Classical Ballet (Cecchetti Method) with Trudy and Lisa Harris for 21 years and in her teen years Narelle took every opportunity to perform. She travelled extensively throughout Victoria to compete in eisteddfods such as the Royal South Street Society, and to perform in charity events and fashion parades.
Narelle was a member of many award winning dance troupes and in 1994 she was awarded the Violet Burns Neo Classical Award in Melbourne for her solo work.
Leaving school Narelle ventured to Melbourne to study Dance Performance Studies at VUT. She discovered the world of backstage and developed her skills in theatre lighting and sound, along with costume design and construction. On return from the big city Narelle was a freelance Dance teacher in Ballarat while undertaking her Certificate III in Children's Services. Working in Childcare during the day, by night Narelle danced up a storm in many BLOC Productions. She was a dancer in the 1996 Award Winning production of Me and My Girl (BLOC Music Theatre). Other productions included Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma and Oliver.
Off the stage Narelle has had television appearances with Yamaha Music, UFS dispensaries, Central Square Ballarat and The City of Ballarat.
Since opening Curtain Call, Narelle has undertaken her Certificate IV in Dancing Teaching and Management and is a qualified instructor in both ZUMBA and Barre Attack. Her love of dance and working with children has become Narelle's passion not only within the studio but through her continued freelance work with local kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.  Outside of the studio Narelle is happily married with two beautiful girls.

We are fortunate at Curtain Call to have a hard working and dedicated team that are both experienced and qualified. Each teacher brings with them a passion for teaching and performing. Our teachers are not only experienced in their performing arts field, but have completed or are undertaking studies in Childcare, Psychology or Education. This ensures our staff know how to work with children, how to approach different learning needs, and how to cater to a wide range of abilities and performance experience in one class environment.
